INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (February 20, 2007) - Andretti Green Racing announced today that Dario Franchitti, Bryan Herta and Tony Kanaan will drive the #26 XM Satellite Radio Acura LMP2 entry in the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring on March 17 at Sebring International Raceway.
Herta, who raced in the IndyCar Series for AGR from 2003 through 2006, will run the entire ALMS schedule in the XM-sponsored machine in 2007. Franchitti and Kanaan, who have also been with the AGR IndyCar Series program since 2003, will continue with full-time efforts in the IndyCar Series in 2007 and will begin that schedule at Homestead-Miami Speedway one week after making their ALMS debuts at Sebring.
The Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, which begins at 10 a.m. Eastern on March 17, marks AGR's first-ever ALMS event. The team will field four full time entries in the IndyCar Series in 2007 with Marco Andretti and Danica Patrick joining Kanaan and Franchitti in the lineup. Team co-owner Michael Andretti will pilot a fifth AGR entry in the 91st running of the Indianapolis 500 on May 27. AGR is also fielding an Indy Pro Series entry this season for Brazilian Jaime Camara.
Additionally, Andretti Green Promotions owns and operates the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, which will feature the second round for both the ALMS and the IndyCar Series on March 31 and April 1, respectively.
