RICHMOND, Va. (June 29, 2007) - Canadian Club driver Dario Franchitti will start from the pole position Saturday at Richmond International Speedway. Qualifying for the SunTrust Indy Challenge was rained out Friday and starting positions were determined based on championship point standings.

Television coverage of the SunTrust Indy Challenge can be seen Saturday on ESPN beginning at 7:30 p.m. (EDT). The IndyCar Series radio broadcast of the event can be heard live on XM Satellite Radio channel 145, the exclusive home of the IndyCar Series.

Dario Franchitti, #27 Canadian Club Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"I'm pretty happy that it rained because we didn't get any qualifying simulations in today because the car had some balance issues that we were trying to get figured out. It's good to be starting up front. As far as the day went, we worked with changing conditions and just trying to find that balance that we need for tomorrow's race. It seems that maybe we're finding that the cars are changing more with the conditions and with the laps then previous years past. I showed up on Wednesday morning complaining about the heat and humidity. It's nice that is going to be a little bit cooler for us and for the fans."
