Overview
  • Notched his 250th career start at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach in April 2013
  • Won the 2012 Indianapolis 500 becoming only the 10th driver in the near 100-year history to win the race three times.  He joins Helio Castroneves as the only foreign-born driver to win the 500 three times.
  • Dario's 31st career victory puts him in a tie for 7th place on the all-time IndyCar wins list alongside Paul Tracy and Sebastien Bourdais.  His next victory will put him alone in 7th place, just 2 wins behind Al Unser Jr. at 34.
  • With his fourth IndyCar title in 2011, Franchitti moved into a tie for second place on the all-time list for most IndyCar Driver Championships (A.J. Foyt – 7; Franchitti/Mario Andretti/Sebastien Bourdais – 4). 
  • Dario is only the third driver in IndyCar history to win at least three titles in a row (Ted Horn: 1946-1948 and S. Bourdais: 2004-2007).
  • Captured the 2011 IZOD IndyCar Series Driver Championship for the third consecutive year and for the fourth time in five years. 
  • Passed Rick Mears on the all-time IndyCar wins list with his 30th career victory in Toronto
  • Inducted into the MotorSport Magazine Hall of Fame in February 2011
  • Won the 2010 IZOD IndyCar Series Driver Championship; his second straight title and his third in four seasons
  • Won the 2010 Indianapolis 500 after leading 155 of 200 laps; becomes only the 17th driver in the history of the 500 to win it multiple times

2012

Driver of the #10 Target car in the IZOD IndyCar Series with Target Chip Ganassi Racing
  • Won the 2012 Indianapolis 500, becoming only the 10th driver in the history of the race to win it three times and joining modern time drivers Helio Castroneves and J.R. Rutherford on the elite list
  • Dario led 23 laps in this year's 500, bringing his career total to 329 laps
  • Became only the second driver in the history of the 500 to win the race from 16th starting position.  The last was Dan Wheldon back in 2005.
  • Posted his 31st career win at Indianapolis pulling him into a tie for 7th on the all-time IndyCar wins list alongside Paul Tracy and Sebastien Bourdais
  • After being spun mid-race and dropped to the back of the field, Dario finishes 5th in the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.  It was his 108th career Top-5 finish.
  • Started 14th and charged to a 2nd place finish at Belle Isle/Detroit
  • Earned his 27th career pole position at Milwaukee
  • Posted his 28th career pole position at Iowa
  • Recorded his 29th career pole position and his third consecutive in Toronto

2011

Driver of the #10 Target car in the IZOD IndyCar Series with Target Chip Ganassi Racing
  • Won the IZOD IndyCar Series Driver Championship for the third consecutive season
  • Recorded 13 Top-5 finishes and 15 Top-10 finishes in 17 completed races
  • Earned his 26th career pole position at New Hampshire
  • Notched his 30th career victory at Toronto to pass Mears on the all-time Indy wins list
  • Posted his 29th career victory at The Milwaukee Mile, tying Rick Mears on the all-time IndyCar wins list.  Also earned his 25th career pole position
  • Recorded his first career win at Texas Motor Speedway and the 28th win of his career
  • Qualifed 9th, led 51 laps and finished 12th after a late pitstop for fuel
  • Finished 4th at Sao Paulo, 3rd at Long Beach and 3rd at Barber

  • Dominated at Sonoma to record his 22nd career pole position and 22nd career win; led all 75 laps

  • Captured the IndyCar Series Drivers Championship

  • Captured 16th career race win at Iowa Speedway to surpass Alex Zanardi as Honda's all-time winningest driver
  • Posted his 17th career race win at Richmond and led the most laps in an IndyCar Series race
  • Has recorded 12 Top-5 finishes in 15 races this season and is the only IndyCar driver to finish in the Top-7 in every race

  • Captured his third career IRL win at Nashville; his hometown racetrack
  • Posted his second career IRL pole position at Fontana
  • Recorded his fourth career IRL win at the season finale in Fontana
  • Finished season ranked #4 in the IRL Driver's Championship

2004
Driver of the #27 ArcaEx car for Andretti Green Racing in the Indy Racing League
  • Finished the 2004 season ranked #6 in the IRL Points Championship
  • Captured his first career IRL race wins at Milwaukee and Pikes Peak; earned four podium finishes
  • Posted his first career IRL pole position at Texas.
  • Recorded 8 Top-10 finishes and 5 Top-5 finishes in 16 races this season; led a total of 349 laps. 
  • Qualified on front row for the Indy 500 (third); finished 14th


2003
