· This will be Franchitti's third start at Chicagoland Speedway. His best finish was fourth in 2004.
· Franchitti did not start last year's PEAK Antifreeze Indy 300 due to injury.
· For the fifth time this season, Franchitti led more laps than any other driver during the inaugural Detroit Indy Grand Prix picking up the important bonus points.
· He is one of two IndyCar Series drivers to finish 15 of 16 races in the top 10 this season and has led more laps than any other driver.
· Franchitti retook the lead in the IndyCar Series points standings by just three points heading into the season finale.
· On May 27, 2007, Franchitti won the 91st running of the Indianapolis 500®: his first Indy 500 victory.
· Franchitti led 34 laps of the 91st Running of the Indianapolis 500 and became only the second Scotsman to win in the history of the event.
· Franchitti is the winningest British driver in American open-wheel racing history.
· Along with teammates Bryan Herta and Tony Kanaan, Franchitti drove to a win at the 12 Hours of Sebring on March 17. The trio collected the LMP2 class victory in AGR's first ALMS start.
· Franchitti has recorded six career IndyCar Series pole positions half of which have come in the 2007 season.
· Five of his seven IndyCar Series victories have come on tracks of 1.33 miles or smaller, including the 1-mile ovals at Milwaukee (2004) and Pikes Peak (2004), the 1.33-mile oval at Nashville Superspeedway (2005), the 0.875-mile track at Iowa Speedway and the 0.75-mile oval at Richmond.
