SONOMA, Calif. (Aug. 15, 2007) - Canadian Club driver Dario Franchitti will start from the pole position for Sunday's Motorola Indy 300 at Infineon Raceway. Franchitti posted a best speed of 107.951 miles per hour (1:16.7017 seconds) during single-car qualifying.

Andretti Green Racing will start first, second and third with Danica Patrick and Tony Kanaan joining Franchitti at the front of the field. This is Franchitti's second pole earned this season. He started a third race from the pole when qualifying was rained out at Richmond. It is his second pole on a road/street course.

Live coverage of the Motorola Indy 300 can be seen on ESPN beginning at 3:30 p.m. (EDT). The 15th event on the IndyCar Series schedule can also be heard live on XM Satellite Radio channel 145, the exclusive home of the IndyCar Series and the “Andretti Green Racing Hour.”

Dario Franchitti, #27 Canadian Club Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
“It feels good to be on the pole. The track conditions changed a lot from this morning, but they've been fast all weekend. We did it when it counted. I tried another go in the Firestone Fast Six Shootout but it just wasn't there. All-in-all I'm very happy with the Canadian Club car. I have to say that it was a really impressive job by DP (Danica Patrick) as well. It's great to have my teammates up there with me as well. That should be an advantage at the start.”
