AVONDALE, Ariz. (November 10, 2007)-Dario Franchitti qualified eighth in his third NASCAR Busch Series race Saturday morning at Phoenix International Raceway, but finished 29th after he was caught up in a four-car incident that red flagged the event three laps shy of the checkered flag.
Just two laps into the 200-lap contest the No.42 Target Dodge had light contact with the outside wall exiting Turn 4 and slipped back to 14th by lap 24. On lap 148 Franchitti was turned around from behind but made a great save keeping the car pointed in the right direction and on the lead lap. He ran in the mid-20s over the final 50 laps and was awarded the Lucky Dog to get back on the lead lap on lap 181, but the car sustained heavy front end damage in the red flag, lap 197 incident and retired to the garage.
Next up for Franchitti and the No.42 team is the NBS season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway next Saturday, November 17.
