HOMESTEAD, Fla. (November 17, 2007) - Dario Franchitti qualified his Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates No. 42 Target Dodge 20th on the grid for Saturday's NASCAR Busch Series finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, but was taken out of contention on just lap 46 of 200 when the yellow flag waved after he made contact with the Turn 4 wall.
Franchitti's fourth appearance in the series came to a halt just before the race's quarter distance, and just after the Target team made its first pit stop. As the Scot made his way back to the start-finish line on lap 45, the rear of the car came around entering turn 4 which sent it up the track and hard into the wall for a 39th-place result.
The NBS season finale concludes the 2007 racing development portion of Franchitti's transition to stock cars. The team will announce plans for his scheduled on-track activity in the coming weeks before he makes his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut at the 2008 Daytona 500.
