SPARTA, Ky. (Aug. 12, 2006) - Klein Tools/Canadian Club driver Dario Franchitti will start sixth for Sunday afternoon's running of the Meijer Indy 300 at Kentucky Speedway. Franchitti posted a best- lap speed of 216.666 miles per hour (24.5909 seconds) during his second qualifying lap.
ABC Sports will provide live broadcast coverage of the event starting at 3:30 p.m. (EDT). The entire 14-race IndyCar Series schedule can be heard live by XM Satellite Radio subscribers by tuning into XM channel 145, the exclusive home of the IndyCar Series.
Dario Franchitti, #27 Klein Tools/Canadian Club Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"We're very happy with the balance of the Klein Tools/Canadian Club car, and it seems reasonably quick, as well. That is something that we haven't had all year on tracks similar to this. I'd say this is the best we've ran on a 1.5-mile oval this year."
