JOLIET, Ill. (Sept. 8, 2007) - Canadian Club driver Dario Franchitti will start from the pole in Sunday's IndyCar Series season finale at Chicagoland Speedway. Despite drawing the fourth qualifying spot, Franchitti posted a best speed of 214.646 miles per hour (25.4931 seconds) to capture the 18th pole of his career.

"I was surprised because we ran a lot quicker than that this morning. Quite honestly, I think the track just slowed down. So we were just sitting there watching the usual suspects go through, thinking 'this could be close.'
