· This will be Franchitti's ninth start at Michigan International Speedway; he has four top-10 finishes.
· Franchitti led six laps at the inaugural Honda 200 at Mid-Ohio on his way to his second-consecutive runner-up finish. He is the only IndyCar Series driver to finish all 12 events in the top seven.
· He leads the IndyCar Series championship by 24 points.
· Franchitti recorded back-to-back wins at Iowa Speedway and Richmond International Raceway.
· On May 27, 2007, Franchitti won the 91st running of the Indianapolis 500®.
· Franchitti led 34 laps of the 91st running of the Indianapolis 500 and became only the second Scotsman to win in the history of the event.
· Franchitti is the winningest British driver in American open-wheel racing history.
· Along with teammates Bryan Herta and Tony Kanaan, Franchitti drove to a win at the 12 Hours of Sebring on March 17. The trio collected the LMP2 class victory in AGR's first ALMS start.
· Franchitti has recorded four career IndyCar Series pole positions, those coming at Texas (June 10, 2004), California (Oct. 26, 2005), St. Petersburg (April 2, 2006) and Richmond (June 29, 2007).
