"I think that the test at Mid-Ohio earlier this year helped us. With the smoother surface, we are going to see better grip levels. The speeds were impressive at the test and I think we'll see even more this weekend. I am looking forward to going back to Mid-Ohio and trying to get the Canadian Club team their first road course win."

- Franchitti started from the pole for the CART races at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in 1998 and 1999.
- His best finish at Mid-Ohio is third in 1999.
- Franchitti led 88 laps at Nashville Superspeedway on his way to a runner-up finish; his 10th straight top-five finish of the season.
- He leads the IndyCar Series championship by 34 points.
- Franchitti recorded back-to-back wins at Iowa Speedway and Richmond International Raceway.
- He is the only driver to finish all 11 races in the top 10 this season.
- On May 27, 2007, Franchitti won the 91st running of the Indianapolis 500®: his first Indy 500 victory.
- Franchitti led 34 laps of the 91st Running of the Indianapolis 500 and became only the second Scotsman to win in the history of the event.
- Franchitti is the winningest British driver in American open-wheel racing history.
- Along with teammates Bryan Herta and Tony Kanaan, Franchitti drove to a win at the 12 Hours of Sebring on March 17. The trio collected the LMP2 class victory in AGR's first ALMS start.
- Franchitti has recorded four career IndyCar Series pole positions, those coming at Texas (June 10, 2004), California (Oct. 26, 2005), St. Petersburg (April 2, 2006) and Richmond (June 29, 2007).
- Five of his seven IndyCar Series victories have come on tracks of 1.33 miles or smaller, including the 1-mile ovals at Milwaukee (2004) and Pikes Peak (2004), the 1.33-mile oval at Nashville Superspeedway (2005), the 0.875-mile track at Iowa Speedway and the 0.75-mile oval at Richmond.
- Franchitti has 17 major open-wheel racing victories and 14 career pole positions.
