Managing Director Mike Hull on Barber:  “St. Petersburg showed that the new Dallara Chassis with the Honda, Chevy, and Lotus engines were ready to race – INDYCAR won last Sunday.  The cars with the new V-6 Turbo Power proved to be faster than their predecessors, so a great step forward.  We’re onto the Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama.  It is a terrific natural terrain 2.4 mile road racing track with lots of elevation change combined with 14 corners.  Our Target team recently had a great pre-season test there, so Dario and Scott plan to be at the front when it counts on Sunday afternoon.  We’re on the NBC Sports Network this week at 12:30 PM EST with Bart Starr as the Grand Marshall – please join us.”
Making History Together:  Minneapolis-based Target celebrates its 23rd anniversary in motorsports with Chip Ganassi Racing in 2012.  Since the formation of this dominant force in motorsports, TCGR has amassed 86 victories and nine titles (1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2003, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011), including three Indianapolis 500 victories (2000, 2008, 2010).  The 2012 season includes two full-time entries in the IZOD IndyCar Series with Scott Dixon and Dario Franchitti and a full-time entry in the NSCS for 1999 CART Champion and 2000 Indianapolis 500 Winner Juan Pablo Montoya, as Team Target continues to feature some of the world’s most accomplished race car drivers.  The Target Racing Program enters 2012 with 95 wins across four series (CART/INDYCAR: 86; GRAND-AM: 4; ARCA: 4; NSCS: 1).
TCGR at Barber: In two visits to Barber Motorsports Park, Team Target has two double podiums.  Dixon recorded two second-place finishes, while Franchitti has tallied two third-place finishes.
Third car for Ganassi at Barber:  TELMEX Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates and the No. 01 TELMEX Dinan-Prepared BMW Riley return to Barber Motorsports Park for the Porsche 250 as the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series shares the track with the IZOD IndyCar Series this weekend.   In eight visits to Barber Motorsports Park, Team TELMEX has accumulated three wins (2008, 2010, 2011), one pole, seven top-five and eight top-10 finishes.  The race will begin on Saturday, March 31st at 12:45 PM (ET) and will air on SPEED Channel at 4:00 PM (ET).
Honda Power:  At last weekend’s season-opening Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, Dixon led the Honda-powered field with a second-place finish.  Honda comes to this weekend’s race second in the Manufacturers’ Championship, with nine points, to 12 for Chevrolet.  Lotus is third, with four points.

Dario Franchitti and the No.10 Clorox Team
Franchitti on Twitter: Catch the latest from the driver of the No.10 Target Honda by following Franchitti’s personal twitter account, @dariofranchitti.
St. Pete Recap:  Franchitti started the race in 10th, and moved up to eighth before the completion of the first lap.  When a car stalled on the course on lap 13, Franchitti’s crew called him to pit-road, beating the caution-flag.  Franchitti would continue to run in the top-15 as the leaders remained on an alternate pit-strategy.  The No. 10 Target Honda Dallara came to pit road for the last time on lap 67, returning to the course in 16th.  Franchitti worked his way up to 10th, but finished 13th after running out of fuel on the last lap.
Road Racer:  Franchitti has 55 road course starts in Indy car racing with five wins, five poles and 24 podiums.  His average start and finish positions are 12.4 and 16.7, respectively.  Franchitti has led 381 out of the 3,778 (10%) laps he has raced on road courses in his career.
Two For “Won”:  Franchitti hopes to improve last year’s finishing position at the 2.83-mile road course by two spots this year to bring home the win.  He started the 2011 race in seventh and passed his way into the top-five by lap 10.  After a caution on lap 36, Franchitti made a pass for third position.  He kept a spot in the top-three for the remainder of the race and went on to finish third.
New Colors:  The No.10 car will sport the colors of Clorox this weekend for the Honda Indy Grand Prix.  Clorox is a leading manufacturer and marketer of some of consumers' most trusted and recognized brand names, including its namesake bleach and other cleaning products.  The Clorox Company is committed to helping families live easier, healthier and better lives. Rank: After St. Petersburg, Franchitti is 13th in the IZOD IndyCar point standings with 17 points, 33 points behind Helio Castroneves.
