Race:           Honda Indy Edmonton on Sunday, July 25 (5:00 PM ET, VERSUS)

Track:          Edmonton City Centre Airport (1.96-mile street/airport course)

NOTES/NEWS

Team Target at Edmonton: In four races at the City Centre Airport in Edmonton, Team Target has claimed one win (2008), three top-fives, four top-10s and has led 32 laps at the track.

Success on the Tarmac: TCGR drivers Scott Dixon and Dario Franchitti are two of only nine drivers to make at least four starts on airport courses (CART previously held races at the Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland). Of these nine drivers Franchitti and Dixon are two of only four to have scored a win (Franchitti- Cleveland, 2001; Dixon- Edmonton, 2008; Paul Tracy- Cleveland, 1993, 2005, 2007; Will Power- Edmonton, 2009).

Team Target Flying High: TCGR teams have four wins in 28 appearances at airport circuits. (Cleveland: Zanardi: 1997, 1998; Montoya: 1999; Edmonton: Dixon: 2008)

Triple Crown: Having already become the first owner to win the Daytona 500 (Jamie McMurray) and the Indianapolis 500 (Dario Franchitti) in the same year, Chip Ganassi will look to add another trophy to the mantle this weekend in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series’ Brickyard 400. Ganassi is looking to become the first owner in history to win a coveted Triple Crown in all three major events.

Managing Director Mike Hull on Edmonton: “The support of the city of Edmonton and the enthusiasm of the Canadian race fans make this event very special.  The race track is one of the best examples of a temporary circuit anywhere in the world.  The visibility lines from the pit lane, hospitality suites, and grandstands allow spectators to get the same feel that they have at an Indy Car one-mile oval.  The width and diversity of the corners provides great passing opportunity.  Our job once again will be to match the terrain to the Dario and Scott’s drive-style to be at the front when it counts.”
